Best Las Vegas Restaurants: 25 Secret Spots Where The Locals Eat

Hey! Welcome to this week’s issue of TheFoodieMaps LV, and a special welcome to our new subscribers.

My friends and I have a tradition of getting boba each Thursday, so this week we will be highlighting (and helping me plan out) some great boba places. After that, we have a section on sushi with one fancy and affordable pick! And last but not least, we have our newest section: Learn from the Locals. If you are a local who has something to say, be sure to shoot us a DM on Instagram! Let’s get to it.

📍 SkinnyFATS

In 2013, the original SkinnyFATS opened its doors in the just outside of Las Vegas. The flagship store gained a ton of local popularity and today there are a ton of locations around the Vegas metro area. If your goal is to eat like a local, SkinnyFATS is a must-visit. Their menu consists of sassy-named dishes with menu items such as “Buff Chix” and “Balls.” What’s there not to like?

While the chain has much local popularity, there has also been a fair amount of hate, mostly being humorous reviews regarding the naming and vibes of SkinnyFATS. I just had to include this review as it made me chuckle.

On the Strip, you can check out The Alley Tea in the Grand Canal Shoppes of The Venetian. There’s nothing like sipping on a delicious milk tea while on break from all the gambling and shopping :P

📍 Feng Cha Teahouse

The Matcha Creme Brûlée looked so aesthetic in this picture, I just had to share. Soon after discovering this post, I paid Feng Cha a visit and was not disappointed! The drink certainly felt more like a dessert than a tea, but it was no short of delicious. I plan to return soon to try one of there many special-tea drinks (get it?).

📍 Hikari Sushi and Teppanyaki

Finding a good AYCE place is a delicate balance of quality and price. From their online traction and popularity, it seems Hikari Sushi and Teppanyaki has the best of both worlds.

📍 Learn from the Locals: Sushi Edition

There’s no one better to learn about local cuisine than from a local. Each time I move somewhere new, I always stumble across the best food recs from long-time residents. In this section, we will compile some of what the locals of Vegas and its surrounding suburbs have to say about sushi in particular.
